Sir Terry’s eco firm wins bid to keep RBS branches cool

Datum Phase Change has won a Dragons’ Den-style competition to work with Royal Bank of Scotland in a key trial of energy-efficient technology in its branches.

Datum Phase Change, in which Leahy holds a one third stake, is one of six firms selected from 141 entrants in the innovation contest. The firm will now begin testing its ThermaCool product with RBS in the hope that it may be rolled out across the bank’s 2,000-plus offices and branches.

Next month the firm launches a new product, GeoBlue, which uses a capillary cooling system that can cope with bigger temperature fluctuations.
